Description

About One Acre Fund

Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund empowers over 5.5 million smallholder farmers to improve farm productivity across nine African countries, which collectively are home to two-thirds of Africa’s farmers. The organization provides high-quality farm inputs, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a broad range of agricultural services. On average, farmers supported by One Acre Fund increase their income and assets on their land by more than 35%, while building long-term resilience. This work is made possible by a diverse team of over 9,000 full-time staff.

In Uganda, the program, established in 2014, supports more than 34,000 farmers with quality farm supplies and fruit trees such as avocados. The Uganda team is headquartered in Jinja, close to the districts it serves, and has a small presence in Kampala. One Acre Fund operates primarily in the eastern region, including Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, and Buikwe districts.
