  1. Job Overview
    This role leads research, assessment, and evaluation activities that guide national education decisions in Uganda. You will manage how education data is collected, analyzed, and used to improve learning outcomes across primary and secondary schools.

In practical terms, you will design research systems that track student performance, evaluate examination results, and support curriculum improvements. Your work directly influences education policy, assessment standards, and national planning.

You will also lead teams that produce official reports, coordinate national assessments, and provide expert advice to government and education stakeholders.

  1. Key Responsibilities
    You will design and lead the research agenda for the organization. This includes setting priorities that align with national education goals.

You will coordinate research activities across different units. This includes exam analysis, education surveys, and assessment studies.

You will oversee the collection and analysis of student performance data. You will ensure data is accurate, secure, and properly stored.

You will lead the preparation and publication of reports on examination results. These reports are shared with education leaders and policymakers.

You will ensure research findings are communicated clearly to stakeholders. This includes government bodies, schools, and education partners.

You will manage national assessment programs such as learning progress studies and continuous assessment systems.

You will coordinate the evaluation of foreign qualifications and ensure proper equivalence with national standards.

You will supervise consultancy services offered by the organization in education assessment and research.

You will promote data driven decision making across all departments.

You will oversee the production of research journals and education publications.

You will manage annual work plans and budgets for the research directorate.

  1. Requirements and Qualifications
    You need a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, or Management Sciences with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.

Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, or a related field is acceptable.

You must have a Master’s degree in Education, Statistics, Economics, or Management Sciences with specialization in Measurement and Evaluation, Statistical Analysis, or Curriculum Development.

A PhD is an added advantage and strengthens your application significantly.

You must have at least 15 years of experience in research, education planning, or curriculum development.

At least 3 years must be in a senior leadership role managing research programs or projects in a reputable institution.

You must have published research work in recognized journals or institutional reports.

You need strong leadership skills and experience in managing technical teams.

You must have strong research, analytical, and data interpretation skills.

    Expected range, UGX 10,000,000 to UGX 20,000,000 per month.
