About the Role

The Officer, Finance position at CfC Stanbic Bank is crucial for ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of the bank’s operations. This role supports key financial activities that enable the bank to make informed decisions and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Record journal entries to accurately reflect revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities in line with business activities.
• Conduct annual verification of assets and IT equipment to confirm accuracy.
• Reconcile all General Ledger accounts with the accounting system on a monthly basis.
• Process incoming invoices via the procurement system and follow up with approvers to ensure timely payments.
• Address payment-related inquiries, providing necessary documentation as needed.
• Monitor financial performance against established budgets monthly, advising stakeholders on variances.
• Extract and compile financial information for standard monthly reports, including income statements for management review.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax returns and reconcile tax control accounts, assisting in resolving any discrepancies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance-related role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and the ability to classify, measure, and record transactions using the bank’s financial systems.
• Knowledge of costing, budgeting, and finance concepts, along with the application of relevant processes and procedures.
