About the Role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Verification Specialist at ThinkWell plays a critical role in supporting Uganda’s health system by verifying the delivery and quality of health services. This position is essential as it will help ensure that government entities meet the necessary milestones for receiving donor funding. In the initial months, the Specialist will undergo orientation and training to become familiar with verification protocols, indicators, and evidence requirements. This hands-on role will include field visits to various health facilities and local governments, where the Specialist will engage with stakeholders and gather data to validate reported outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in verification orientation and training to thoroughly understand assigned milestones, indicators, and required evidence for accurate assessments.
- Review and analyze existing reports and data related to assigned milestones, contributing to the prioritization and planning of verification activities.
- Prepare for field verification by familiarizing yourself with the relevant indicator definitions, data sources, and verification templates needed for each assignment.
- Conduct hands-on verification of health service delivery at various levels, including community settings and health facilities across Uganda.
- Examine and validate source documents such as HMIS records, patient files, and administrative records to ensure the accuracy and completeness of reported results.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to reconcile data discrepancies and ensure all findings are traceable and supported by verifiable evidence.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field is required for this position.
- At least three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly within health systems, is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and interpret health information systems and related data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey findings to diverse audiences.
- Proficient in using data verification tools and methodologies to assess the quality and reliability of health service delivery data.
