About the Role
We are seeking skilled freelance translators for a long-term project involving the translation of legal texts, privacy policies, and terms and conditions related to a health and wellness wearable device. This position is crucial for ensuring that vital information is accurately communicated across multiple languages, thus supporting the global outreach of innovative health solutions. In the initial months, translators will familiarize themselves with the technical language and specific requirements of the project while engaging in a collaborative environment with other professionals in the field. Key Responsibilities
Translate documents from English into one of the target languages, ensuring that the legal terminologies and technical nuances are accurately conveyed.
Review and edit translations to maintain high-quality standards and coherence with the source materials.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify any ambiguous terms or phrases to ensure precise translations.
Utilize CAT tools such as memoQ or Trados Studio for effective translation management and consistency across documents.
Complete a sample test as part of the application process to demonstrate translation capabilities and understanding of the subject matter.
Maintain open communication with project coordinators regarding progress, challenges, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of translated materials.
Requirements & Qualifications
The candidate must be a native speaker of the target language to guarantee the authenticity and fluency of translations.
At least five years of professional experience in translation or localization, particularly in legal, IT, and medical contexts.
Proficiency in translation tools such as memoQ or Trados Studio is essential for managing translation workflows efficiently.
A strong understanding of legal terminology and concepts as they relate to technology and health-related content.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
