About the Role

At 7Hills International School, we are seeking a dedicated Physics & Mechanics Teacher to join our vibrant educational community in Kampala. This position is essential for inspiring students and fostering a deep understanding of physics and mechanical principles, which are fundamental to their academic growth. In the initial months, you will engage with students in dynamic classroom environments, implement effective teaching strategies, and contribute to curriculum development that enhances students’ learning experiences. You will also collaborate with fellow educators to create an enriching atmosphere that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover physics and mechanics concepts, ensuring they meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Assess students’ understanding through regular examinations, quizzes, and interactive projects, providing constructive feedback to support their academic progress.
• Manage classroom dynamics effectively, establishing authority and fostering a respectful and conducive learning environment for all students.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance, using this data to inform instructional strategies and improve student outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects that promote critical thinking and real-world applications of physics and mechanics.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on the latest educational strategies and technologies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Diploma or Associate’s degree in Education, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Proven experience in secondary school teaching, particularly in physics and mechanics, with a strong track record of student success.
• Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain authority while building positive relationships with students.
• Strong proficiency in preparing students for examinations and grading assignments thoughtfully and fairly.
• Ability to create mechanical drawings and other visual aids that enhance student understanding of complex concepts.
