Bio Slurry and Extension Officer

We are seeking a Bio Slurry and Extension Officer to support the development and expansion of bioslurry initiatives in Uganda. The role focuses on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening partnerships, and increasing the adoption of bioslurry as an organic fertilizer.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to grow and sustain the bioslurry business in Uganda
• Design and deliver training programs for Business Enterprises (BEs)
• Identify and recruit new farmers and partner organizations to expand operations
• Conduct ongoing research to better understand the fertilizer market, especially organic fertilizers
• Lead marketing and sales efforts to promote bioslurry, including implementing effective outreach strategies
• Build and maintain partnerships with cooperatives, value chain actors, and other stakeholders
• Establish demonstration sites that serve as training centers for farmers and partners
• Provide advisory support to farmers, value chains, and BEs on bioslurry usage and benefits
• Strengthen the capacity of partner organizations and local extension officers through training and mentorship
• Support the growth and management of existing bioslurry initiatives
• Address farmer concerns and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution
• Participate in field activities such as farmer field days, exhibitions, and AGMs to raise awareness
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports, including work plans and periodic updates
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned
