Job Description
About the Role
R8te Content Creators Awards is expanding across East Africa and is seeking motivated individuals to represent the brand locally. As a Country Representative, your primary responsibility will be to recruit nominees by identifying and onboarding both established and upcoming content creators in your market. The goal is to ensure the awards are competitive, credible, and engaging from the start. This role is ideal for someone deeply connected within the local entertainment industry who understands where to find top talent and how to engage them effectively.
This is a performance-based role divided into three phases, with progression determined by results achieved at each stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Nominee Recruitment (Core Focus): Identify, engage, and onboard top and emerging content creators across all award categories within your country.
- Creator Outreach: Directly connect with musicians, comedians, influencers, content creators, and talent managers to introduce the awards, explain benefits, and encourage participation.
- Community Engagement: Support audience participation by promoting voting and fan interaction once nominees are confirmed.
- Market Insights: Provide updates on trending creators, rising talent, and cultural trends that may influence award categories or nominations.
Compensation Structure
- Phase 1 – Trial (2–3 weeks) | $30 Facilitation Allowance
Receive a $30 allowance to cover communication and transport costs. The target is to onboard at least 10 approved nominees, including a minimum of 3 well-known creators. Successful completion leads to Phase 2; failure to meet the target ends the engagement. - Phase 2 – Retainer (30 days) | $150 (paid at end of month)
Upon passing Phase 1, you will enter a one-month retainer period. The goal is to onboard an additional 15 nominees (total of 25), including at least 10 well-known creators. Payment is made upon achieving the target, leading to Phase 3. - Phase 3 – Monthly Salary | $400/month
After successfully completing Phase 2, you will transition to a fixed monthly salary role. Responsibilities expand to include ongoing nominee recruitment, community engagement, and acting as the local representative for R8te.
Requirements
- Must be based in Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania, with hands-on experience in the local entertainment or content creation industry.
- Strong network of content creators, influencers, talent managers, and industry professionals.
- Experience in talent management, artist relations, entertainment PR, or influencer marketing.
- Proactive and self-driven mindset, with the ability to actively reach out through calls, messages, and events.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong passion for African creative industries.
- Highly performance-oriented, with success measured by the number and quality of nominees recruited.
