Engineering Manager (Remote – FR speaker)

About the Role

As an Engineering Manager at Pragmatike, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the engineering function of a dynamic technology company. This position is designed for a strategic leader who can bridge the gap between engineering excellence and business objectives. In the initial three months, you will focus on understanding the current engineering processes, mentoring your team, and driving the engineering roadmap in alignment with product goals. Your hands-on approach will allow you to directly influence technical decisions and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• You will define and manage the engineering roadmap, ensuring it aligns with both product and business priorities to meet strategic goals.
• Leading a team of engineers, you will mentor and support them, set clear priorities, and actively work to remove any blockers to enhance team performance.
• Your role will involve making and challenging architectural and technical decisions, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the systems.
• You will be responsible for steering complex technical projects from planning through execution, ensuring that teams are aligned and focused on delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Collaboration with product, sales, and various business stakeholders will be crucial as you translate their requirements into clear technical objectives.
• Establishing and improving engineering standards, processes, and practices within the organization will be part of your mandate.
• You will remain technically engaged with your team, providing direct contributions when in-depth technical support is required.
• Your insight will help evaluate and integrate new technologies, exploring practical opportunities across domains like Cloud, AI, and Blockchain.
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will work on enhancing engineering processes and team performance as the company scales.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A proven track record as an Engineering Manager or in a similar technical leadership role is essential for this position.
• Applicants should possess a strong software engineering background, particularly with experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Elixir, or Golang.
• Comprehensive understanding of software architecture, engineering practices, and modern development workflows is expected.
• Experience in managing engineering teams and successfully delivering complex technical projects will be crucial.
