  1. Key Responsibilities
    You will provide legal advice and representation to indigent and vulnerable clients. This includes explaining legal rights and guiding them through court processes.

You will draft legal documents such as pleadings, affidavits, and applications for court use. Accuracy and clarity are important in all documents.

You will represent clients in court, including the High Court, and also participate in mediation and arbitration sessions.

You will manage pro bono legal work and supervise related activities to ensure quality service delivery.

You will prepare monthly reports on case progress, activities, and outcomes for review by management.

You will supervise staff under your department and support performance reviews together with senior management.

  1. Requirements and Qualifications
    You must hold a Bachelor of Laws degree. This is the basic requirement for legal practice.

You must also have a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. This qualifies you to practice law in Uganda.

You must have a valid practicing certificate issued by the relevant legal authority.

You need at least five years of experience in litigation. This means you should have handled court cases and legal proceedings before.

You must be qualified to appear before the High Court.

Good communication skills are important, especially when dealing with clients and court processes.

Ability to speak local languages is an added advantage because it helps in client communication.
