- Job Overview
This role focuses on shaping how the company plans, performs, and grows. You will lead strategy development and ensure business goals are clear, measurable, and achieved across all departments.
In real work terms, you will guide how the organization sets targets, tracks performance, and improves results. You will study business data, identify gaps, and recommend actions that improve efficiency and service delivery.
You will also ensure that corporate plans align with national electrification goals, regulatory requirements, and industry trends. Your work directly influences how the company performs and delivers electricity services across Uganda.
- Key Responsibilities
You will lead the development of long term corporate strategy. You will ensure plans reflect national electrification priorities, regulatory frameworks, and market trends.
You will translate strategy into clear action plans. You will guide departments on how to set targets and align their work with company goals.
You will prepare monthly performance dashboards. These reports will show progress, risks, and areas that need improvement for senior management.
You will analyze business data and prepare insights. You will use this information to support decision making and performance improvement across departments.
You will coordinate reporting to the Electricity Regulatory Authority. You will ensure accuracy and timely submission of business statistics.
You will develop business cases for improvements. These may include operational changes, efficiency programs, or new initiatives.
You will oversee strategy related projects. You will track progress and report outcomes to senior leadership.
You will support organizational culture programs. You will work with HR teams to promote alignment between staff behavior and corporate values.
You will coordinate business continuity planning. You will work with ICT and operations teams to ensure the company can operate during disruptions.
You will contribute to annual reports and strategic reviews.
You will develop staff under your supervision through coaching, performance feedback, and capacity building.
- Requirements and Qualifications
You need a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Law, Strategic Management, or a related field.
A master’s degree in a related discipline is an added advantage. It shows deeper understanding of strategy and leadership.
Certification in strategy frameworks such as Balanced Scorecard is an added advantage.
You need at least 5 years of experience in strategy development, business planning, or performance management. At least 3 years should be in a middle management role.
You should have experience in large organizations where multiple departments work together.
You need strong analytical skills to interpret data and convert it into clear business actions.
You must have experience managing cross functional teams and complex projects.
You need strong communication skills to present reports and engage senior leaders.
You should have change management, problem solving, and decision making skills.
You must have leadership ability and experience managing staff performance.
- Salary Range, Expected Range
UGX 8,000,000 to UGX 18,000,000 per month
Salary depends on experience, qualifications, and exposure to strategic leadership roles in large organizations or utilities. Senior packages may include performance based benefits.
