Description

About the Role

The Mechanical Product Design Engineer at QTech Global Ltd plays a critical role in shaping the future of innovative spray pump machinery and small equipment. This position is vital for ensuring that QTech continues to push the boundaries of mechanical design, transforming initial concepts into fully functional, patent-protected products. In your first few months, you will immerse yourself in the design process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring your engineering ideas to life while ensuring they meet market demands and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for designing and engineering new machines and enhancements to the existing QTech product line, focusing on mechanisms, pump assemblies, and fluid paths from concept through to production.
  • Your role will include producing detailed 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings, complete with tolerances and manufacturing documentation to guide the production process.
  • Developing original and patentable mechanical design concepts will be a key aspect of your job, ensuring QTech machines stand out in the competitive landscape.
  • Hands-on involvement in building, testing, and refining physical prototypes will enable you to validate performance, reliability, and manufacturability effectively.
  • You will conduct thorough patent and freedom-to-operate research, designing around existing patents, and assisting in the preparation of new patent applications to protect QTech’s innovations.
  • Your collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing partners will encompass discussions on tooling, machining, molding, materials, and production processes to optimize manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A proven track record in mechanical design engineering is essential, ideally with tangible examples of shipped physical products or machines to demonstrate your capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with small spray pumps, pneumatic systems, or similar small machinery will be critical to your success in this role.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Inventor is required, including the ability to create 3D models and toleranced 2D technical drawings.
  • You should possess a history of original, innovative mechanical design work, showcasing your ability to create novel solutions rather than merely making incremental updates.
  • A solid understanding of materials, tolerances, machine elements, and prototyping methods, including 3D printing and machining, is also necessary.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering that will enhance your design and prototyping skills, making you a more versatile engineer.
  • An opportunity to contribute to innovative projects that have a tangible impact on the market, enhancing your portfolio and professional reputation.
  • Collaboration with a dynamic team of professionals, allowing for networking and mentorship opportunities that can accelerate your career growth.
  • The chance to deepen your understanding of patent processes and intellectual property, equipping you with valuable knowledge that is highly regarded in engineering fields.
