About the Role
As a UI Designer at Custody X Change, you will be an integral part of a small, remote team dedicated to enhancing a web application that supports co-parenting after separation or divorce. This position is vital for ensuring that our product meets the needs of families navigating difficult situations, providing them with tools to communicate effectively and manage their schedules. In your first few months, you will focus on understanding customer feedback, particularly regarding mobile usability, and work towards designing a mobile-first experience that enhances user engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- You will engage with customers to gather insights on how our current product design falls short of their needs, which is essential for driving meaningful improvements.
- Based on customer feedback, you will create design solutions that are both user-friendly and aligned with the development team’s capabilities.
- Your role will involve validating these design improvements with user testing, ensuring that changes genuinely enhance the user experience.
- As part of an iterative process, you will continuously refine your designs based on user input and usability research.
- You will collaborate closely with developers to ensure that your designs are executed faithfully, maintaining high-quality standards throughout the development process.
- In addition to working on mobile solutions, you will also assess how these improvements can be integrated into the desktop experience, ensuring consistency across platforms.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work and achievements.
- Proven experience in conducting customer research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for collaborating with a diverse team and engaging with customers.
- You must be self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work independently and tackle design challenges effectively.
- Experience with design tools and software such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD is highly desirable.
