About the Role

The Sales Associate position at the Mbale Branch of the Kumi KOICA Project offers a unique opportunity to engage in the vibrant agricultural marketplace by promoting and distributing processed cassava products. This role is essential for driving sales and expanding market reach, contributing to local economic growth and community empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the sale of KACE processed cassava products, including cassava flour and chips, at the Mbale Branch.
  • Manage an inventory of approximately 2 tons of cassava products monthly.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with at least four regular wholesale customers.
  • Ensure timely product delivery and conduct effective follow-ups with customers.
  • Explore and identify new market opportunities and potential buyers in Mbale and nearby regions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, stock levels, and customer interactions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance.
  • Report directly to the Sales Officer and collaborate closely with the project management team.
  • Assist in promotional activities and maintain clear communication with customers.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of products and manage sales proceeds with accountability.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Sales Officer or project management.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the food or agricultural sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to market engagement and customer follow-up.
  • Educational background in business, marketing, or a related field is an advantage.
