About the Role
The Business Development Manager – Broking position is a critical role within a prominent insurance and financial services organization operating across Africa. This role is pivotal in enhancing the company’s market presence in Uganda by cultivating strong relationships with brokers and clients, thereby driving growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand the company’s market share through broker partnerships.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective brokers and clients, ensuring successful onboarding.
- Negotiate service agreements to secure profitable business outcomes.
- Meet and exceed established revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and explore new market opportunities and partnerships.
- Create tailored sales plans to drive financial performance.
- Engage in pitching and closing business deals with potential clients.
- Cultivate strong strategic partnerships within the assigned broking sector.
- Design and develop customized products for the broker market.
- Conduct market activations in collaboration with brokers to enhance product visibility.
- Prepare detailed market intelligence reports on competitive offerings.
- Monitor broker performance to ensure achievement of production targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in the insurance sector.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market trends and data.
- Familiarity with compliance and risk management processes in the insurance industry.
