About the Role
ASQ International is on the lookout for dedicated Secondary Specialist Teachers to join a prestigious international school in Kampala, Uganda, starting in August 2026. This role is pivotal in shaping the educational journey of diverse learners within an enriching environment that emphasizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. Teachers will find themselves in a dynamic setting where they can inspire students while collaborating with a team of passionate educators. In the initial months, new hires will undergo a comprehensive onboarding process, allowing them to acclimate to the school culture and the vibrant community of Kampala.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of secondary students, ensuring each student can thrive academically and personally.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies and technology to enhance student learning experiences, fostering a love for the subject matter.
- Regularly assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to guide their progress.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to develop interdisciplinary projects that promote teamwork and integrate various subject areas into comprehensive learning modules.
- Engage with parents and guardians through regular communication, keeping them informed about their child’s academic achievements and areas for improvement.
- Participate in professional development workshops and training sessions to continually enhance teaching practices and stay updated on educational trends.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject area, along with a recognized teaching certification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent.
- Demonstrable expertise in the subject area, with a strong passion for teaching and the ability to create stimulating lesson plans.
- Previous experience in an international or multicultural teaching environment is highly regarded, helping to navigate diverse educational landscapes.
- A commitment to fostering the personal and academic growth of secondary students, encouraging independence, critical thinking, and curiosity.
- Proficiency in employing differentiated instruction techniques to meet the varied learning styles and abilities present in the classroom.
