About the Role
The Grant and Resource Coordination Officer at SNV plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Power for Food Partnership Programme (P4FP), a transformative initiative aiming to strengthen agri-food systems in Uganda. This role is crucial as it directly contributes to addressing critical issues like food security, climate change, and biodiversity loss. In the first few months, you will engage in collaborative efforts with stakeholders, manage resources effectively, and develop strategies that align with the programme’s goals. You’ll also gain insights into the operational frameworks that drive sustainable development projects across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the grant application process, ensuring that all submissions meet donor requirements and align with SNV’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to foster collaboration and resource sharing.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, providing timely reports and insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange among program partners, ensuring that best practices and lessons learned are documented and disseminated effectively.
- Support capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills of local partners and beneficiaries, particularly in areas related to sustainable agriculture and renewable energy.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and compliance with financial guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field is essential for this role.
- At least three years of experience working in project management or resource coordination within the development sector, preferably in Uganda.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grant management processes, including proposal writing and budgeting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and promote teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software to track progress and report outcomes.
