About the Role

The Programs Officer position at Chumi.work is a pivotal role aimed at advancing community development initiatives in Uganda. In the first few months, you will engage closely with field teams, stakeholders, and beneficiaries, gaining a comprehensive understanding of project dynamics and community needs. Key Responsibilities

  • You will coordinate day-to-day activities related to the implementation of various community development programs, ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with established timelines.
  • Your role will involve developing detailed work plans and continuously monitoring project progress to identify any challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducting field visits will be a key aspect of your job, where you will engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights that can inform program adjustments.
  • Preparing comprehensive project reports and maintaining documentation will be crucial for tracking progress and communicating outcomes to both internal teams and external partners.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field is essential for this role.
  • Previous experience in project or program management is highly desirable, providing a foundation for understanding the complexities of community projects.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills will be critical for documenting activities and engaging with diverse audiences.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders is required, as building relationships is key to the success of development initiatives.
