The Finance Administrator position at Abaana Ministries is a vital role that supports the organization’s mission of empowering vulnerable children through effective financial management. Key Responsibilities
- You will prepare accurate monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets, to facilitate informed management decisions.
- Your role will involve maintaining complete and up-to-date accounting records using QuickBooks, ensuring that all organizational transactions are accurately documented.
- Regular bank reconciliations will be part of your duties, validating that all company accounts align with bank statements.
- Monitoring budget expenditures against approved plans is crucial, and you will flag any variances for timely management intervention.
- You will process payroll calculations, including PAYE and NSSF deductions, in strict compliance with Ugandan tax regulations to ensure accurate employee compensation.
- Preparing for financial audits will require you to organize supporting documents and schedules to facilitate a smooth audit process.
- Your responsibilities will also include managing petty cash disbursements and maintaining a proper voucher system for small expenses.
- Supporting procurement processes by verifying financial availability and processing payment requests will be essential for the organization’s operational efficiency.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce with an Accounting option, or Business Administration from a recognized university is required.
- You should have a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably within NGOs or Christian ministries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office applications is necessary for effective financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience using QuickBooks accounting software for daily bookkeeping and financial management is essential.
- A valid Ugandan driving permit for automatic vehicles, along with a clean driving record of at least two years, is required for potential fieldwork.
- Level II of a recognized professional accounting qualification, such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent, is highly desirable.
