About the Role

The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator role at NRC NORCAP is vital for ensuring that programs are effectively assessed and improved through evidence-based decisions. This position is designed to provide crucial support in the development and implementation of M&E systems that align with the organization’s strategic goals. In the initial months, you will engage in the setup of monitoring frameworks, collaborate with program teams on evaluation methodologies, and assist in training staff on M&E practices. Your contributions will help shape the organization’s capacity to learn and adapt, making a significant impact on the communities served.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will adhere to NRC policies and procedures, ensuring compliance while supporting M&E system development and implementation.
  • Your role includes actively participating in program design discussions, contributing to the creation of theories of change, and developing logical frameworks and budgets for M&E activities.
  • Support program staff in planning and executing M&E by providing guidance on data collection methodologies, analysis tools, and effective data management practices.
  • Facilitate the implementation and dissemination of evaluations and assessments, ensuring that monitoring data is utilized in program development and adjustments.
  • Contribute to organizational learning by conducting analyses and documenting lessons learned, which will enhance overall program effectiveness.
  • Supervise and mentor M&E staff, ensuring they effectively execute M&E plans and develop their professional skills in the monitoring and evaluation field.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, ideally within the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
  • A strong understanding of M&E systems and tools, including experience with indicator development and data collection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools, as well as strong report-writing skills to produce high-quality analytical reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Statistics, or Development Studies is preferred.
