Senior Production Officer

Simlaw Seeds Company Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of the Kenya Seed Group of Companies. Established in Kenya in 2002 as a limited liability company, Simlaw Seeds’ core business is the sale and marketing of high-quality horticultural seeds across Kenya and the wider Eastern Africa region.
In Uganda, we import, produce, market, and distribute genuine agricultural inputs, including seeds, agricultural chemicals, and farm tools. Our products serve both commercial farmers and subsistence or domestic users, ensuring access to reliable, quality inputs that support sustainable agricultural growth.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven candidate to join our team for a fixed-term contract in the Production Department.
The Senior Production Officer will be responsible for The Senior Production Officer is responsible for the provision of agricultural extension services and ensuring adequate seed production for the company.
Location:
Namanve Head Office and any other area where the company has operations.
Main Duties
1)    Identification and Recruitment of seed growers to achieve set seed production targets.
2)    Coordinate distribution of basic seed and other farm inputs to all contracted farms and approved seed growers.
3)    Coordination of farm operations to optimize yields.
4)    Coordinate timely inspection of crops and advising farmers at various stages in accordance with best agronomic practices
Minimum Requirements
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
At least four (4) years of relevant work experience
Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or equivalent qualifications.
Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution
Membership in good standing with a professional body
Proficiency in computer applications
Good communication skills
Ability to work in a farm environment
Ability to work in a multicultural environment
Demonstrated results in work performance
