About the Role
The Senior Research Associate at Spark MicroGrants plays a vital role in advancing community-driven development initiatives by conducting rigorous research that informs decision-making at the village level. This position is essential for ensuring that Spark’s innovative model of resource allocation is effective and impactful in uplifting rural communities. In the initial months, you will engage deeply with ongoing research projects, collaborating closely with the Senior Research Director and the Evidence and Strategy Manager to refine study designs and analytical approaches. Your contributions will directly support the organization’s mission to empower communities by translating research findings into actionable strategies. Key Responsibilities
- You will take full ownership of assigned research projects, managing everything from project planning to the final delivery of results, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to meticulously.
- Your role will involve leading quantitative research activities, including designing measurement approaches, conducting data analysis, and disseminating findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensuring that all research activities align with Spark’s high standards of rigor, quality, and ethical considerations will be a critical part of your responsibilities.
- You will develop and maintain reproducible analytical workflows, which will include keeping organized documentation, version control, and clear records of methodology and findings.

Requirements & Qualifications
- A master’s degree in social sciences, development studies, or a related field is highly preferred, demonstrating a solid educational foundation for the role.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in research project management, ideally within the development sector, showcasing your ability to handle complex research initiatives.
