About the Role

The Beverage Server position at Amentum offers a unique opportunity to work within a specialized environment supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. This role is crucial for ensuring patrons receive exceptional service and quality beverages, contributing to an enjoyable experience while adhering to strict military and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a wide range of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, promptly and with professionalism.
  • Employ mixology skills to craft both standard and unique drinks tailored to customer preferences.
  • Adhere to established recipes and quality standards in beverage preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and military guidelines regarding beverage service.
  • Verify guest identification to confirm adherence to legal drinking age regulations.
  • Maintain food and beverage service in line with sanitation and handling practices.
  • Keep the bar area clean and organized, meeting sanitation standards consistently.
  • Perform opening and closing tasks, including bar setup and inventory management.
  • Accurately manage point-of-sale transactions and handle cash responsibly.
  • Monitor alcohol consumption and intervene responsibly when necessary.
  • Create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the customer experience.
  • Complete mandatory training, including ServSafe Alcohol Server Intervention and food sanitation courses.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months of experience in bartending, including beverage preparation.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage safety and sanitation practices.
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training within 30 days of hiring and participate in annual recertification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse patrons.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Strong adherence to operational procedures and compliance standards.
  • Competence in using point-of-sale systems and managing cash transactions.
