  1. Job Overview
    This role focuses on checking and confirming that electricity connection work meets required technical and safety standards. You will inspect materials, installation work, and field activities to ensure everything is done correctly before customers are connected.

In real work terms, you will move between project sites, review electrical installations, check workmanship, and confirm that contractors follow approved procedures. You will identify errors early and make sure they are corrected before approval.

You will also support safe electricity connection practices. Your work ensures customers receive safe, reliable, and properly installed connections across different areas in Uganda.

  1. Key Responsibilities
    You will inspect electrical connection works in the field. This includes checking poles, wiring, meters, and materials used during installation to confirm they meet standards.

You will identify defective or non compliant work. When you find issues, you will record them and ensure they are corrected by contractors or field teams.

You will follow up on reported issues. You will check if corrections have been done and confirm that problems do not repeat in future installations.

You will support safety compliance. You will ensure field teams follow electrical safety rules and proper working procedures during installation work.

You will work closely with contractors and field engineers. You will explain quality expectations and guide them on proper installation methods.

You will prepare inspection reports. These reports will include findings, safety concerns, defects, and corrective actions taken in the field.

You will support continuous improvement. You will give feedback to help improve workmanship and reduce installation errors over time.

  1. Requirements and Qualifications
    You need a diploma in Electrical Engineering. This gives you the technical knowledge needed to understand installation standards and electrical systems.

You need at least 3 years of experience in field inspections, electrical installations, or quality assurance work.

Experience in electricity distribution or utility projects is an added advantage.

You should have practical skills in electrical installation up to 415V. Certification such as ERA Permit Class C is an added advantage.

You must understand last mile connection standards. This includes correct installation methods and safety procedures used in field connections.

You should have training in ORHVS and ORLVS safety systems. Defensive driving or riding skills are also important due to field mobility.

You need strong attention to detail and discipline in following technical procedures.

    UGX 1,800,000 to UGX 3,800,000 per month

Salary depends on experience, technical certification, and field exposure. Some roles may include field allowances depending on assignment location.
