- Job Overview
This role focuses on making sure every electricity connection meets safety rules, technical standards, and quality expectations. You will inspect installations, check materials used in the field, and confirm that work done by contractors follows approved guidelines.
In practical terms, you will move between project sites, review connection work, identify faults, and ensure corrections are done before systems are approved. You will act as the quality gatekeeper for electricity connection projects.
You will also support field teams by guiding them on proper installation methods. Your work ensures customers receive safe, reliable, and properly installed electricity connections.
- Key Responsibilities
You will conduct regular inspections of electrical connection works. This includes checking materials, installation methods, and final outputs to ensure they meet required standards.
You will identify defects in field installations. When you find issues, you will document them and ensure contractors correct the work before approval.
You will monitor ongoing field activities. You will track how work is done and compare it with approved procedures and safety guidelines.
You will evaluate contractor performance. You will review workmanship, identify gaps, and provide technical feedback to improve quality.
You will prepare detailed inspection reports. These reports will include findings, compliance status, risks identified, and corrective actions taken.
You will support safety enforcement. You will identify risks in connection works and ensure safety rules are followed on all sites.
You will participate in investigations when quality failures or technical issues occur in the field.
You will train field staff and contractors. You will guide them on proper installation standards and promote consistent quality work across all regions.
- Requirements and Qualifications
You need a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. This gives you the foundation to understand electrical systems and installation standards.
You need at least five years of experience in utility operations, inspections, or quality assurance. Experience in electricity distribution projects is highly relevant.
You should have experience working with field teams or contractors. This helps you understand real installation challenges.
You need strong technical knowledge of electrical installations and safety standards.
Membership in professional bodies such as UIPE or ERB is an added advantage and shows professional recognition.
You must have strong attention to detail. Small errors in electrical work can affect safety and service quality.
You should be able to write clear reports and communicate findings to technical teams and management.

UGX 3,500,000 to UGX 7,500,000 per month
