About the Role
The Country Director for MSI Reproductive Choices in Uganda plays a pivotal role in leading the organization’s mission to provide essential sexual and reproductive healthcare services. This position is critical as it directly impacts the lives of women and girls, empowering them with the choice to manage their reproductive health. In the first few months, you will engage with local teams, understand the challenges faced in the Ugandan context, and work on strategic initiatives to enhance service delivery. You will be responsible for fostering partnerships, ensuring program sustainability, and promoting a culture of high-quality, client-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Uganda country program, ensuring alignment with MSI Reproductive Choices’ global mission and strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to expand access to reproductive health services, focusing on sustainability and efficiency.
- Oversee financial management, budgeting, and reporting processes, ensuring that all resources are utilized effectively and responsibly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, NGOs, and community stakeholders to advocate for reproductive health rights and services.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact through data analysis, ensuring that services meet the needs of the community and adhere to best practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field is preferred, with significant experience in international development.
- At least 7 years of progressive leadership experience in the health sector, particularly in sexual and reproductive health services.
- Proven track record in program management, financial oversight, and strategic planning within an NGO or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of the Ugandan healthcare landscape, including policies, regulations, and community dynamics related to reproductive health.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and lead diverse teams.
