The Country Director for GiveDirectly in Uganda will play a pivotal role in leading the operations and strategic direction of the Uganda country office. Key Responsibilities
The Country Director will oversee that all GiveDirectly Uganda programs operate on schedule and meet the established quality standards, ensuring that every initiative is efficiently executed.
They will manage and mentor the programs team, providing guidance to navigate challenges, maintain timelines, and achieve excellence in outcomes.
Accountability for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to recipient experience and operational efficiency will be a significant part of their role, ensuring that the organization meets its targets.
Effective budget management is essential, with the director responsible for the optimal allocation and utilization of donor funds and resources to maximize program impact.
Interaction with national and local government officials will be necessary to secure permissions required for the maintenance and expansion of programs, fostering collaborative relationships.
They will cultivate a strong culture of safeguarding and anti-fraud measures within the country office, working in tandem with global teams to implement best practices in program design and execution.

Requirements & Qualifications
A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in the NGO or development sector, with a solid understanding of cash transfer programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with donors, government agencies, and other stakeholders is essential for securing funding and support.
Strong financial acumen is required, including experience in budget management and resource allocation to ensure effective program delivery.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills are necessary, as the Country Director will represent the organization to various audiences, including media and government.
