About the Role

The Director of Digital Business and Channels at FINCA International plays a vital role in shaping the future of financial services for underserved communities in Uganda. This position is crucial as it focuses on developing innovative digital products and channels that cater to the unique needs of low-income entrepreneurs and small business owners. In the first few months, you will immerse yourself in understanding customer requirements and existing systems, collaborating with various teams to align digital strategies with broader business objectives. Your work will directly impact how these communities access financial solutions, fostering economic empowerment and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital business and channels strategy that aligns with FINCA’s mission and goals.
• Oversee the design and delivery of digital lending, savings, and payments solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
• Act as the primary relationship manager for fintechs and digital service providers, ensuring effective partnerships that enhance FINCA’s offerings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Technology, to ensure seamless integration of digital services across all platforms.
• Monitor and assess the performance of digital products and channels, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improvements.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the digital business unit.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 7-10 years of experience in digital banking, financial services, or a related industry, with a proven track record in leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of digital financial products and customer experience design, particularly in emerging markets.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive business decision-making and strategic planning.
