The Full Stack Engineer position at YooKatale is pivotal in revolutionizing how food products and services are accessed in Uganda. As a part-time hybrid role, you will be deeply involved in both the front-end and back-end development of our innovative mobile food market platform. This role not only requires technical expertise but also a collaborative spirit, as you will work alongside product and design teams to enhance user experiences. In your first few months, you will implement responsive interfaces, optimize APIs, and contribute to the overall improvement of the food marketplace, ensuring it meets the needs of our diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities
You will design and develop responsive user interfaces that enhance customer engagement on both web and mobile platforms.
Your role will involve building and optimizing APIs to ensure seamless integration between various components of the marketplace.
You will maintain server-side logic and database management, ensuring the platform operates efficiently and securely.
Regular code reviews will be part of your responsibilities, helping to ensure high-quality outputs and adherence to coding standards.
You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing timely solutions to enhance platform performance.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be crucial as you gather user feedback to iterate and improve existing features.
Requirements & Qualifications
A strong foundation in Front-End Development, particularly with CSS, is essential for building user-friendly interfaces.
You should have proficiency in Back-End and Full-Stack Development, with experience in designing and integrating APIs.
Solid experience in Software Development, including coding best practices, testing methodologies, and debugging techniques, is required.
Familiarity with modern web technologies and frameworks, such as JavaScript, RESTful APIs, and databases, is expected.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
Experience working with marketplace, e-commerce, or food-tech platforms, especially within African contexts, will be an advantage.
