As a Java Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at InterContinental Recruiting, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of a sophisticated distributed streaming platform. This position is essential for maintaining the infrastructure that processes over 4 million messages a second, which is vital for our clients’ operations. In your first few months, you will familiarize yourself with our systems, contribute to critical technical decisions, and collaborate with multi-functional teams to enhance system performance. Your work will directly impact user experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
You will architect, develop, and implement software solutions that enhance the stability and scalability of our streaming platform infrastructure.
Your role will involve owning multiple services, allowing you the autonomy to make impactful decisions that benefit both the business and our customers.
Constructing effective monitoring systems will be a key task to ensure the health of your system and to manage outages efficiently.
You will be responsible for conducting capacity tests to manage and predict the growth of our systems effectively.
Planning for reliability will involve designing systems that operate seamlessly across our multinational data centers.
Participating in an on-call rotation will be necessary, where you will act as an escalation contact for incident management.
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience in building and maintaining complex, scalable, and distributed systems is essential for this role.
A solid understanding of software engineering principles and computer science fundamentals is required to formulate effective software solutions.
Hands-on experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting is crucial for maintaining system performance.
