  1. Job Overview
    This role leads the bank’s digital payments business, focusing on billers and merchant tills. You will drive how businesses and service providers connect to the bank’s payment systems and how customers use these services daily.

In real work, you will grow the number of billers and tills, ensure they work smoothly, and increase transaction volumes. You will manage partnerships, improve customer experience, and ensure all processes meet regulatory standards. You will also lead a team and work closely with departments like IT, Risk, Sales, and Compliance.

This role suits someone with strong banking or fintech experience who understands digital payments and can lead business growth.

  1. Key Responsibilities
    You will design and execute strategies to grow billers and merchant tills across the bank.

You will oversee onboarding of new billers and merchants, ensuring all requirements and compliance checks are completed.

You will manage the performance of the portfolio by tracking transactions, usage levels, and revenue growth.

You will build and maintain relationships with partners such as businesses, aggregators, and service providers.

You will work with internal teams to ensure smooth system integration and service delivery.

You will train internal staff and clients on how to use biller and till solutions effectively.

You will monitor market trends and identify new opportunities in digital payments.

You will prepare performance reports and present insights to senior management.

You will manage budgets related to digital payments operations and ensure cost control.

You will enforce risk management processes and ensure compliance with banking regulations.

You will identify and reduce fraud risks through monitoring and training.

You will improve processes to make onboarding faster and services more efficient.

You will lead and mentor a team, ensuring high performance and accountability.

  1. Requirements and Qualifications
    You need a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, ICT, or a related field.

A Master’s degree is an added advantage and strengthens your application.

Professional certifications in payments, digital banking, project management, or risk management are an added advantage.

You should have specialized knowledge in digital payments systems and merchant services.

You must have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in banking, fintech, or digital payments.

At least 3 years must be in a leadership role managing teams or business units.

You need strong understanding of financial systems, compliance, and risk management.

You must have strong leadership, communication, and decision making skills.

  1. Salary Range Estimate
    Expected range, UGX 12,000,000 to UGX 25,000,000 per month.

This depends on experience, leadership level, and performance.
