The Lecture role at USAID SITES (Strengthening Impact of the USAID Mission’s Efforts) is a pivotal position aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of USAID-supported initiatives in Uganda. This role exists to deliver impactful instructional sessions and workshops that focus on crucial areas such as monitoring and evaluation, data utilization, and project implementation. In the initial months, the lecturer will immerse themselves in the program’s objectives, developing engaging lesson plans and materials while actively participating in collaborative curriculum enhancement. A successful lecturer will foster a productive learning environment, promoting inclusivity and professionalism in educational practices.
Key Responsibilities
The lecturer will prepare comprehensive lesson plans and learning materials tailored to the needs of diverse audiences, ensuring content is accessible and relevant.
Conducting engaging instructional sessions, workshops, and training on key topics aligned with USAID SITES’ mission is a fundamental duty that requires creativity and adaptability.
Facilitating discussions and interactive learning experiences, the lecturer will encourage participant engagement and critical thinking throughout the training sessions.
Assessing participant performance through various evaluation methods, including quizzes and feedback sessions, to ensure effective learning outcomes are achieved.
Documenting and analyzing learning outcomes will be essential for continuous improvement, helping to refine teaching methodologies and curricula.
Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders is crucial for fostering a multidisciplinary approach to education, ensuring that all training materials meet USAID SITES’ standards of excellence.
Requirements & Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field is required, with advanced qualifications considered an advantage.
Demonstrated instructional and facilitation skills, including prior experience delivering lectures, trainings, or workshops to diverse groups of learners.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for explaining complex concepts clearly and sensitively to various audiences.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities are necessary to effectively manage multiple training sessions, prepare materials, and meet deadlines.
Experience in development, NGO, or donor-funded projects, particularly within USAID or similar organizations, is highly beneficial for this role.
