About the Role

The Patient Support Officer at C-Care Uganda plays a pivotal role in enhancing the patient experience within the hospital environment. This position is essential for ensuring that patients navigate their healthcare journey smoothly, which directly influences operational efficiency and service delivery. In the first few months, you will engage with patients, assist in managing their flow through various hospital services, and work closely with clinical and administrative teams. Your contributions will help maintain high standards of care and improve patient satisfaction, making this role crucial in the healthcare continuum.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they enter the hospital.
• Proactively assist patients who show signs of confusion or distress, guiding them to appropriate service areas such as registration or clinics.
• Monitor patient flow across outpatient departments (OPD) to ensure that waiting times are minimized and operational goals are met.
• Drive initiatives to reduce patient waiting times, ensuring that over 85% of patients wait less than 30 minutes for service.
• Assist patients in scheduling and confirming appointments, ensuring seamless communication regarding their healthcare needs.
• Conduct patient satisfaction surveys to gather feedback, aiming to improve the overall patient experience and trust score.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of a diploma in a relevant field such as healthcare management or social sciences is required.
• Experience in customer service or patient support roles within a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proficiency in using hospital management software and basic office applications is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
