About the Role

The Systems Engineer at OC Sports & Entertainment plays a crucial role in shaping the technological backbone of live entertainment and sports within Orange County. This position is vital as it ensures the seamless operation of Microsoft 365 services and the enterprise IT infrastructure that supports critical business systems and live-event operations. In the first few months, you will engage in hands-on training with existing systems, collaborate with senior infrastructure personnel, and assist in troubleshooting and optimizing the technical environment. Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and administer Microsoft 365 services, ensuring a smooth operation of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for all users.
• Manage Microsoft identity and access management platforms by overseeing Active Directory, user accounts, and permissions, thereby enhancing security and user experience.
• Install, configure, and maintain both Windows and Linux servers, ensuring that applications and hardware operate reliably and efficiently.
• Support and manage VMware virtualization environments, focusing on virtual machine provisioning and performance monitoring to optimize resource usage.
• Oversee enterprise backup and disaster recovery systems, ensuring data integrity through regular monitoring and resolving any operational issues promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute infrastructure improvements and maintenance tasks, all while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required for this position.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or network administration, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of IT systems.
• Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft 365 services and various enterprise IT infrastructure technologies is essential.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, will be advantageous for effective resource management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously are necessary for success in this role.
