About the Role
This pivotal position at Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) allows you to lead a prominent Pan-African feminist organization during a transformative era. As the Executive Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of feminist leadership and social change across Africa, ensuring that AMwA remains a powerful advocate for women’s rights and community empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of AMwA’s strategic vision for the next decade.
- Enhance organizational culture and promote shared accountability among staff and stakeholders.
- Forge and strengthen partnerships within feminist movements to amplify AMwA’s influence.
- Develop diverse fundraising strategies to ensure the organization’s sustainability.
- Maintain strong relationships with the Board, staff, partners, and broader social movements.
- Guide AMwA through transitions while preparing it for future challenges and opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and experience in African feminist or women’s rights sectors.
- Extensive senior leadership experience in feminist, women’s rights, or social justice organizations.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and maintaining donor relationships.
- Political insight and awareness of regional and continental issues affecting women’s rights.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability in change management.
- Integrity, accountability, and a commitment to collaborative leadership.
