About the Role

The Senior Technical Sales Specialist position at Optima Africare (U) Limited is a pivotal role that focuses on expanding access to essential laboratory diagnostic solutions across Uganda and neighboring regions. This position not only drives business growth but also significantly contributes to enhancing healthcare delivery by fostering relationships with key healthcare institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and expand the adoption of laboratory diagnostic solutions throughout Uganda and the broader region.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within hospitals, clinical laboratories, research institutions, NGOs, and government healthcare programs.
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with laboratory managers, pathologists, clinicians, biomedical engineers, procurement teams, and other decision-makers.
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations, and customer training sessions.
  • Create tailored technical and commercial proposals that meet customer needs.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation to quotation, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence, competitor insights, and customer feedback to inform strategic business decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the medical diagnostics field.
  • Proven track record of sales success and a strong network within Uganda’s healthcare sector or neighboring countries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and customer needs.
