About the Role

The Spa Therapist position at Marriott in Kampala is a vital role that enhances the guest experience through personalized wellness treatments. This role focuses on providing high-quality massage and body treatment services, which are essential for guest relaxation and rejuvenation. In your first few months, you will familiarize yourself with spa protocols, learn various therapeutic techniques, and develop a strong rapport with guests to ensure their needs are met. You’ll also engage in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest spa therapies and trends in wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional massage services tailored to individual guest needs, ensuring a relaxing and therapeutic experience.
• Perform body treatments including scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy, while assessing guest health concerns such as allergies or medical conditions.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment area by regularly sterilizing tools and ensuring the workspace is tidy throughout your shift.
• Communicate effectively with guests to promote comfort and safety, making adjustments to treatments as necessary based on their feedback.
• Promote and sell spa services and retail products, enhancing guest knowledge about wellness offerings available.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and maintaining professional appearance at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Possession of a valid State or Regional Massage License is mandatory to ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.
• A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in a spa or wellness environment is preferred for effective service delivery.
• A degree from a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School focusing on massage therapy or a related field is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires building positive relationships with guests and colleagues alike.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as lifting and manipulating tools or equipment safely.
