About the Role

The Admin Officer position at BrighterMonday Uganda plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential administrative support to the Management Committee. In your first few months, you will engage with various financial documentation and systems, gain a deeper understanding of the organization’s operations, and contribute to important financial decisions. Your work will directly impact the association’s ability to provide financial services to its members, making your role both rewarding and significant.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for updating and maintaining comprehensive financial records, ensuring that members’ savings, loans, expenses, and welfare ledgers are accurate and reflect real-time data.
  • Your expertise will guide the Credit Committee by advising them on the eligibility of members for loan services, thus directly influencing the accessibility of financial resources.
  • Regularly tracking loan disbursements, repayments, and arrears will be essential in managing the financial stability of the association and identifying any trends that may require attention.
  • You will prepare essential financial summaries and reports for management, aiding in strategic decision-making and ensuring transparency within the organization.
  • Maintaining organized records for easy access and audits will be part of your daily duties, ensuring that the financial processes are both efficient and compliant.
  • Your role will extend to advising management on investment opportunities and risks, as you will regularly update the investment portfolio for informed decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A strong educational foundation in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline is essential for this role, providing you with the necessary knowledge to manage complex financial records.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and other relevant financial applications will enable you to perform your tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • The role requires a commitment to faith alignment; being a practicing, Born-Again Christian is a core requirement for this position, reflecting the organization’s values.
  • You should possess strong attention to detail, with proven experience in basic financial record-keeping that ensures accuracy in all financial reports.
