About the Role

As a Product Manager at Berkeley Payment Solutions Inc., you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our payments platform. This position is designed for a proactive individual who thrives on understanding customer needs and translating them into actionable product features. In your first few months, you will immerse yourself in the intricacies of our payment solutions, collaborating closely with senior product leaders and engineering teams to define priorities and drive product development. Your insights will directly influence our product roadmap, ensuring that we deliver solutions that meet real market demands. This position is remote, allowing you to work flexibly while contributing to a dynamic, startup-like environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will conduct in-depth research to identify and understand customer pain points related to our payment solutions, ensuring that your development strategies are data-driven.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will outline product specifications that clearly articulate the features and functionalities required for successful implementation.
  • Through regular collaboration with engineering, you will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept through to launch and subsequent iterations based on user feedback.
  • Your role will involve prioritizing product backlogs and making tough decisions to ensure that the most impactful features are developed first, even if it means setting aside other good ideas.
  • You will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of the payment landscape, including card programs and disbursement mechanisms, to effectively guide development efforts.
  • By leveraging your analytical skills, you will evaluate product performance metrics post-launch and adapt strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, particularly in B2B platforms or fintech products, is essential for this role.
  • You should have a proven history of delivering products or features that drive significant business or customer metrics, demonstrating your impact in previous roles.
  • Strong product discovery abilities are necessary; you must be able to frame problems effectively, validate hypotheses, and pivot based on data.
  • Excellent written communication skills are required, allowing you to articulate trade-offs clearly to engineers, managers, and clients alike.
  • A comfort level with technical concepts, such as APIs and data constraints, is crucial for engaging meaningfully with engineering teams.
