About the Role

The Country Director position at Chumi.work in Kampala represents a pivotal leadership role within the organization, responsible for steering the country operations towards excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the formulation and execution of the country strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Provide oversight for all programs and operations, ensuring that they meet organizational standards of excellence and impact.
  • Act as the primary representative for the organization in engagements with donors, government agencies, and key partners, fostering strong relationships.
  • Ensure that all activities comply with donor requirements and internal organizational policies to maintain operational integrity.
  • Oversee the financial management of the organization, including resource mobilization efforts aimed at enhancing financial sustainability.
  • Drive the growth and impact of the organization by identifying new opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships at both national and international levels.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Development Studies, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this senior role.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in the NGO or development sector, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
  • Proven experience in managing large donor-funded programs, showcasing an understanding of the complexities involved.
  • Exceptional strategic planning and organizational leadership skills that can guide the team towards achieving its objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities, crucial for maintaining relationships with diverse partners.
  • Experience in managing budgets and leading multidisciplinary teams effectively to achieve organizational goals.
