About the Role
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is dedicated to enhancing healthcare through impactful clinical research, particularly in the realm of meningitis. To further this mission, we are looking for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Officer who will be vital in ensuring that our clinical research studies adhere to the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role is essential for maintaining integrity and credibility in our research efforts, as well as ensuring patient safety. In the first few months, the QA/QC Officer will engage closely with ongoing studies, conduct quality reviews, and contribute to audits, thereby gaining a deep understanding of our operational standards and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- The QA/QC Officer will conduct thorough quality reviews of clinical research documentation to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and relevant regulatory requirements.
- This position requires the officer to actively participate in audits and inspections, identifying potential deficiencies and recommending corrective actions to enhance study quality.
- The officer will be responsible for tracking and documenting all corrective actions taken in response to quality reviews and audit findings, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Maintaining accurate and complete study documentation is crucial; the officer will assist in ensuring that all records are inspection-ready at all times.
- Collaboration with research teams will be essential, as the officer will provide ongoing training and support to ensure that all team members are aware of compliance standards.
- The QA/QC Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of quality management systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in research practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Clinical Research, or a related field is required for this role, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a clinical research environment is essential.
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory standards is crucial for the successful execution of the responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed to effectively convey quality standards and collaborate with research teams.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills will aid in conducting thorough quality reviews and audits.
