About the Role
The Senior Business Support Associate (Fleet & Training) at the World Food Programme (WFP) plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of fleet management and training services across the East and Southern Africa region. This position is essential for ensuring that WFP’s logistics and transportation capacities are effectively utilized to deliver humanitarian assistance. In the first few months, you will engage in understanding the operational workflows, collaborating with various teams, and supporting training initiatives aimed at improving fleet management skills among staff and partner organizations. You’ll be at the forefront of optimizing fleet operations while contributing to a mission that impacts lives across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage and coordinate logistics operations related to the fleet, ensuring that all processes comply with WFP standards and policies.
- Assist in the development and execution of training programs tailored to enhance the technical skills of WFP employees and partner staff in fleet management.
- Provide administrative support for fleet operations, including tracking vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and ensuring timely reporting of issues.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that all fleet-related purchases are made efficiently and align with budgetary constraints.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics and prepare reports to support decision-making and improve operational effectiveness.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify training needs and adapt programs to meet the specific challenges faced in fleet management within the region.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field is required for this role.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in fleet management, logistics, or a similar administrative role is expected.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to facilitate training and collaboration across diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with fleet management software will be advantageous.
