About the Role

The Technical Sales Engineer position at Brightermonday Uganda is pivotal in driving sales in the industrial, manufacturing, construction, mining, and oil & gas sectors. As a Sales Engineer, you will engage with clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your first few months will involve familiarizing yourself with the full range of personal protective equipment (PPE) products and developing relationships with key stakeholders. This role not only contributes to the safety of various industries but also supports your professional growth in technical sales and client management.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will design and implement a territory-based sales strategy to effectively target sectors like manufacturing and construction, ensuring optimal market coverage.
  • Your role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through various methods, such as cold outreach, site visits, and participation in industry events.
  • Conducting thorough needs assessments and technical consultations with professionals like EHS Managers and Procurement Officers will be a key part of your job, allowing you to provide tailored solutions.
  • Providing expert guidance on the selection of PPE will help clients meet compliance obligations under Uganda’s Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • You will prepare detailed technical proposals and competitive tenders, showcasing the advantages of our products to potential clients.
  • Negotiating and closing sales contracts while maintaining company margins will be essential to achieving your sales targets consistently.
  • Additionally, you will monitor and report on market trends and competitor activities to enhance strategic planning and decision-making.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is essential for this role.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or business development, preferably within the industrial safety or PPE sectors, is highly advantageous.
  • You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and understand their needs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to occupational safety will be beneficial.
  • Experience in conducting product demonstrations and training sessions is preferred, as you will be responsible for educating clients on PPE usage.
