About the Role

The Logistics Handling Operations Administrator – Customs Brokerage position at Ceva Logistics is a vital role that ensures the seamless movement of goods through customs. This position not only enhances the efficiency of logistics operations but also plays a crucial part in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, which is essential for facilitating international trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the clearance processes for goods to ensure efficiency.
• Make accurate declarations for assigned files, including necessary tax and duty entries, in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process all import/export documentation while adhering to customs regulations.
• Engage with customs offices to expedite document processing and secure timely entry releases.
• Resolve queries from the Uganda Revenue Authority regarding declaration documents effectively.
• Assist the Bonds section in following up on customs bonds and ensuring goods are properly documented and bonded.
• Keep the cargo tracking system updated with the latest information as it becomes available.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations within customs brokerage.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A university degree in Transport and Logistics Management or a related field.
• Possession of an East African Customs and Freight Forwarding certificate is an advantage.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate operational challenges.
• Excellent presentation skills for effective collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in computer applications and logistics software.
• High integrity and self-motivation with the ability to manage a rigorous work schedule.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
