About the Role
The i-SERVE Youth Volunteer Programme is a transformative initiative led by the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in collaboration with Enabel, aimed at empowering fresh graduates by bridging the gap between education and employment. This 12-month program is tailored to equip participants with essential work readiness skills through practical, hands-on experiences in diverse fields such as Marketing, Digital Content Development, and Agriculture. As a volunteer, your days will involve engaging in real-world projects, enhancing your professional network, and gaining valuable insights into the workings of the public sector. The first few months will focus on acclimatizing to the workplace, learning from experienced mentors, and developing skills that are vital in today’s job market.
Key Responsibilities
- You will actively participate in daily operations within your assigned field, contributing to ongoing projects that promote KCCA’s vision and mission.
- Regularly attend training sessions designed to enhance your professional skills and improve your understanding of workplace dynamics.
- Engage in collaborative team efforts, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies that enhance the visibility of KCCA initiatives and outreach programs.
- Support digital content creation efforts by contributing to social media campaigns and website updates that engage the community.
- Participate in agricultural projects that aim to improve food security and sustainability practices within the Kampala region.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A relevant Degree or Diploma in fields such as Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture, or Digital Media is essential for application.
- Applicants should be recent graduates, having completed their studies within the last two years.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in a professional setting is crucial.
- Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with social media platforms will be beneficial for digital content roles.
