About the Role
The Outlet Manager at Marriott Kampala plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences for guests while maximizing operational efficiency and financial performance. This position is essential as it oversees the daily operations of restaurants, bars, and room service, ensuring that both guest satisfaction and employee engagement are prioritized. In the first few months, you will immerse yourself in the restaurant’s environment, understand team dynamics, and actively engage in menu planning and staff training to uphold Marriott’s renowned service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- You will supervise and manage a diverse team of employees, ensuring that all daily operations run smoothly and efficiently, even stepping in to perform duties in their absence when necessary.
- Maintaining service excellence and sanitation standards across all food service areas is crucial, ensuring compliance with health regulations and providing a safe dining environment.
- Regularly reviewing staffing levels is essential to meet guest service expectations and achieve operational and financial goals, ensuring the right number of staff are scheduled during peak times.
- Utilizing your leadership skills, you will influence and guide team members, fostering a culture of mutual respect and cooperation that enhances team dynamics and performance.
- You will actively identify the developmental needs of team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance their skills and improve overall service quality.

Requirements & Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required, with a minimum of four years of experience in food and beverage management or a related field.
- Alternatively, a two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or a related major, paired with at least two years of relevant experience, is acceptable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for leading a team and providing exceptional service to guests.
- Proven ability to manage operations effectively, demonstrating sound decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards, as well as local liquor laws, is crucial for compliance and operational integrity.
