About the Role
The Fulfillment Buyer role at Twyford International is integral to ensuring that all purchase orders are executed efficiently and delivered on schedule. This position serves as a vital connection between suppliers and various internal teams, including planning, warehouse, and logistics. In the first few months, the successful candidate will engage in comprehensive training on the company’s procurement processes and systems, while also managing real-time order fulfillment activities. This role is crucial for maintaining a reliable supply chain and enhancing overall operational efficiency, which directly impacts the company’s ability to meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- The Fulfillment Buyer will monitor the entire order fulfillment process, ensuring that materials are delivered in the correct quantities and on the specified dates.
- Proactive tracking of order statuses is essential; the Buyer will identify potential delays and take necessary corrective measures to minimize disruptions to the supply chain.
- Maintaining precise records of delivery progress is a key responsibility, including regular updates to the ERP system with real-time shipping information.
- Regular communication with suppliers is critical to review production status, quality control measures, and shipping plans to avoid any fulfillment-related issues.
- The Buyer will address and resolve issues such as late shipments, discrepancies in quantity, documentation errors, or quality concerns, escalating critical matters to the Procurement Supervisor when necessary.
- Collaboration with internal teams, including planning and logistics, will ensure alignment between material availability and production schedules, facilitating a smooth flow of goods.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required for this position.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, focusing on order fulfillment and supplier coordination.
- Proficiency in managing multiple suppliers and orders simultaneously is essential, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, Incoterms, and freight forwarding practices is preferred, with experience in Uganda or East African logistics being a plus.
- Technical skills in ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, are necessary for effective performance in this role.
