About the Role

The Civic Learning Program Manager at the League of Women Voters of Washington plays a vital role in promoting civic education and engagement within communities. This position is designed to enhance the outreach and effectiveness of the League’s educational resources, particularly the textbook series “The State We’re In: Washington.” In the initial months, you will focus on building relationships with educators and understanding their curriculum needs, which will inform the development and promotion of educational materials. This role not only supports the League’s mission of empowering voters but also helps ensure that citizens are equipped with the knowledge necessary for informed participation in democracy.

Key Responsibilities

• You will develop and implement annual work plans aimed at increasing the sales and usage of the LWVWA’s educational resources, tracking program performance, and providing regular updates to leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Building and maintaining relationships with educators, curriculum managers, and existing partners is essential for securing new clients and expanding the program’s reach.
• Your role involves fostering strategic relationships with key education stakeholders, such as the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
• Creating a robust communications and outreach plan is necessary; you’ll develop messaging and marketing materials that effectively convey the value of the League’s educational resources.
• Updating and enhancing the educational materials, including textbooks and teacher guides, will be part of your responsibilities to ensure they remain relevant and engaging for users.
• Monitoring and evaluating the program’s impact will be crucial; you will gather feedback and insights from users to continually improve the offerings and strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, or a related field is typically required for this role.
• Experience in program management or a related field, ideally with a focus on education or civic engagement, is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including educators and community leaders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and techniques will be beneficial for tracking program performance and managing multiple initiatives.
