About the Role
The Associate, Residency Program plays a pivotal role in the operational management and daily oversight of the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine Primary Care Program at NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk. This position is essential for maintaining the quality of medical education, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and supporting the needs of both faculty and residents. In your first few months, you will quickly familiarize yourself with program policies, collaborate closely with various stakeholders, and engage in the continuous improvement of educational processes. This role is crucial for fostering a high-quality learning environment, making it a significant contributor to the success of the residency program.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Program Administrator to ensure that the residency program operates smoothly and adheres to all institutional and accreditation requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison for residents, faculty, and accreditation bodies, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved.
- Interpret and apply the policies and procedures set forth by the ACGME and NYU GLISOM, providing essential guidance to residents on program requirements.
- Manage residency administration systems by maintaining accurate records related to resident demographics, attendance, and scheduling to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Handle confidential information with utmost professionalism while addressing resident inquiries and concerns in a timely manner to foster a supportive environment.
- Support continuous program improvement efforts by participating in evaluations and feedback processes, ensuring that the residency program meets high educational standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, education, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in educational program administration or medical training programs, ideally with a focus on graduate medical education.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, essential for maintaining compliance with accreditation standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders including residents, faculty, and external bodies.
- Proficient in the use of residency management systems and standard office software to facilitate program operations and data management.
