About the Role

Amentum, a leader in advanced engineering solutions, is looking for an Electrician to contribute to a critical US Navy program on Diego Garcia. This position is crucial as you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various electrical systems crucial for operational readiness. In the first few months, you’ll engage in hands-on training, familiarizing yourself with the specific electrical systems and safety protocols in place. Your role not only supports infrastructure but also enhances the safety and reliability of essential services. Key Responsibilities

• You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, ensuring all work complies with electrical codes and standards relevant to the project.
• Your duties will include inspecting and testing electrical distribution systems to diagnose faults, thereby restoring service efficiently.
• Identifying and correcting health and safety hazards associated with electrical systems will be a key part of your responsibilities.
• Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems will be essential to maximize reliability and reduce downtime.
• You will read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to execute installations and repairs accurately.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs will be crucial in ensuring compliance and operational transparency.
• Responding promptly to electrical emergencies and service calls will be expected to support operational continuity.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• You should have at least two years of experience as an Electrician Helper or in a related electrical maintenance role.
• Basic knowledge of electrical distribution systems and wiring methods is fundamental for success in this position.
• Familiarity with electrical safety principles and devices such as residual current devices is essential.
• Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment will be crucial for your daily tasks.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are necessary to ensure effective collaboration and safety compliance.
