About the Role
The Regional Implementation Officer for the Uganda Data-Activated Architecture for Resilient Transition (DART) project plays a crucial role in enhancing digital health systems in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This position is vital for ensuring that health facilities transition to digital platforms that improve health service delivery and data management. In the initial months, the officer will focus on understanding the local health landscape, coordinating with contractors, and overseeing the implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) systems. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful health advancements in Uganda while gaining hands-on experience in project management and digital health technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate site assessments to evaluate the readiness of health facilities for digital transformation, ensuring that all necessary requirements are met.
- Oversee contractor coordination, facilitating communication and logistics to ensure timely and effective ICT installations at healthcare sites.
- Manage the EMR readiness process, guiding health facilities through the steps needed to implement electronic medical records effectively.
- Organize training logistics for healthcare staff, ensuring they are adequately prepared to utilize new digital systems and technologies.
- Facilitate the commissioning of new digital health systems, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and integration.
- Collect evidence and data related to project outcomes, supporting the continuous improvement of digital health initiatives and reporting findings to project leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Project Management, or a related field is required for this position.
- At least 3 years of experience in project implementation, preferably in the health sector or with digital health initiatives.
- Strong understanding of digital health systems, including electronic medical records and health information exchanges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, demonstrating a strong ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
